Bestest Friend and I are doing a blog project. Each day we will write a blog post on a pre-determined theme chosen by a random noun generator. The theme for the sixteenth day of the month is "Instruction."

NGS: Okay, Hannah. I don't have anything to write about for my blog. Will you pose for me?
Hannah: I am uncomfortable with this, NGS. I am not your blog content.
NGS: Okay, then. How about a selfie with me? Pretend you like to cuddle.
Hannah: There is no way in tarnation I'm going to pretend that. Why are you even suggesting I get closer than half a foot away from you?
NGS: Just...try?
Hannah: This is the best I've got. Look. I'm touching your arm.
NGS: Couldn't you make it seem less like you're the awkward girlfriend who is going to break up with me tomorrow?
Hannah: No.
This is what I get for not planning what I'm going to write about ahead of time. Unflattering photos of both of us!

Does your pet like to cuddle? Do you have a secret to good pet selfies?
I'm enjoying Hannah's eloquent eyebrows! (And FWIW, I think you both look cute in all the pics.)
ReplyDeleteHey eyebrows really do tell a story. A story of extreme annoyance.
DeleteLOL. DON'T LET HER EXPLOIT YOU, HANNAH!
ReplyDeleteHELP ME, NANCE. SHE WON'T STOP WITH THE CAMERA.
DeleteHee hee... I especially like the last one where Hannah is clearly leaning away from you.
ReplyDeleteHer body language says it all. That's a dog who does not like to cuddle.
Deletelol
ReplyDeleteRight? How can she say so much when she doesn't speak human?
DeleteHa! What a fun post and Hannah makes great blog content - please let her know we love when she shows up in this space :)
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't love it when she shows up on the blog, though. She thinks it's mean for me to do it to her!
DeleteI love the side-eye she is giving you! Very strong "yeah, NO" vibes from Hannah there.
ReplyDeleteI have no advice, as Maggie is strictly interested in cuddles on her terms, and does not appreciate it when I think I can cuddle her. It has to be her idea.
Zelda is soooo much cuddlier. That's actually why I don't have a ton of photos of her because they'd all be photos of her zonked out on my lap.
DeleteOh my gosh. This makes me love Hannah even more! She is TRUE to herself all the time. 😜😜 My dogs will pose if they think a treat is coming their way; they'll do anything for food!
ReplyDeleteThis was absolutely my fault. I did this AFTER dinner when she wasn't hungry and wasn't at all interested in food. I should have done it beforehand so I had some sway with her.
DeleteI respect Hannah and her way of doing what she thinks is best. Almost catlike in her indifference.
ReplyDeleteBut my cat cuddles! And loves pets! Hannah does not.
DeleteHannah is making me laugh. This is how my Buddy acts. 🤣
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so happy I'm not alone in my standoffish dog having.
DeleteThese are so cute and your imagined conversation made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteThis conversation may not have happened out loud, but it was NOT imagined!
DeleteOur dog will cuddle, but only on her own terms. There's something about the couch in the backroom that she doesn't like, so she usually curls up next to it. But this weekend it got cold, and she jumped right up beside me and curled up next to me like it was something that she does every day.
ReplyDeleteSince the pandemic we've taken a selfie with her every day, and we've gotten very good at turning our heads in the direction that she's facing to make it seem like we're all on the same page. That plus taking ONE BILLION photos each day will usually get us one decent shot.
Hannah just doesn't cuddle unless she's scared or it's first thing in the morning. I don't actually mind this quirk of hers, but it does make it challenging to get spur of the moment blog content!
DeleteHahaha Hannah's face is so funny and expressive!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely know what she's thinking, don't you?
DeleteOscar is back with us for the next week or 2 as she had a vet appointment yesterday. She has been cuddling with Phil and she actually sort of sad in my lap yesterday when Will was sitting next to me. That shocked me because she is not a fan of kids. But it didn't last long before she hissed, growled, and jumped off my lap. It was nice for that brief moment, though!!
ReplyDeleteI bet she'll get even more chill as she gets older. We used to have a mean cat who turned Very Friendly in her old age!
