Bestest Friend and I are doing a blog project. Each day we will write a blog post on a pre-determined theme chosen by a random noun generator. The theme for the fifteenth day of the month is "Volume."

Yesterday, my husband had to go in to his office to work. This is quite unusual for a Saturday, but while he was there, I caught up on some blogging and worked out and took the dog for an extra-long walk. But then he texted me on the way home for my order from the coffee shop because he felt terrible that he had to work on the weekend. It was a lovely, unexpected surprise.
Our love is shown almost entirely through food.

What was your last unexpected surprise for the good?
Our love is acts of service, although I often surprise Rick with his favourite meatloaf now and then.
ReplyDeleteMy husband really needs to hear words of affirmation, but I'm a gifts gal. I like that we know this about one another and act accordingly.
DeleteOh yes, that is love! 😋
ReplyDeleteIt was such a lovely surprise!
DeleteGood man there.
ReplyDeleteHe's the best.
DeleteRed velvet cupcakes are my love language!
ReplyDeleteSince we're so busy with scouts, my favorite "treat" is when the hubs manages to surprise me with a special activity for either just us or for the family. The last one was a family bike ride on Labor Day weekend.
I will admit that my husband is not great at organizing activities. I would be ASTONISHED if he ever did that! So I'm a tiny bit envious over here.
DeleteAww, that's so sweet! Hmm, unexpected surprise... a friend bringing someone we didn't know on a trip and us all getting along and now that new person is working for my husband!
ReplyDeleteWow! That must have been a great trip. It's so hard to travel with other people!
DeleteI think my last unexpected surprise was last weekend, my daughter went to the Farmers' Market with her friends, and brought home some sunflowers for our table. Which was really sweet of her, but I had to laugh because it meant that she hadn't noticed the sunflowers that were already on the table, RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER.
ReplyDeleteAwww...you taught her well, though. She has the same decor taste that you do!
DeleteThat is definitely love! (Latest surprise was my 16-year-old sharing some of their skincare products--expensive stuff I would never buy--with me.)
ReplyDeleteOh! I want someone to give me the whole Sunday Riley line so I can treat my skin to the good stuff.
DeleteThis is also our love language!! I'd call it a Win Win.
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to know how to make your partner happy.
DeleteAww. That's so sweet. My latest big surprise was finding $10 in the pocket of a for-sale purse at a thrift store.
ReplyDeleteMy love language is definitely Acts of Service but, really, don't went need/want them all! Special/thoughtful gifts and gestures really do make me feel very loved, for sure.
A free $10 is amazing! How lucky for you!
DeleteThat is very sweet that your husband did something to make up for having to work on a Saturday. I'm blanking my most recent good surprise. I'm coming up blank but we are all kind of slogging along right now with busy work schedules and nagging respiratory viruses and such... We did get a buy one blizzard get one for $0.99 coupon for DQ so I am looking forward to cashing that in, even though this is really NOT blizzard season now that it's pretty chilly out.
ReplyDeleteEvery season is Blizzard season, Lisa! Ice cream is never wrong!
DeleteVery true! It's just extra appealing when it's super hot!
DeleteAwww, I love that. Jon will pick me up ice-cream :)
