We came come from the fair, lit some citronella candles on the balcony, and oohed and aahed over the fireworks. It was kind of chilly, so we wrapped up in a blanket, sweatshirts, and giggled about cold weather in July. When they were finished, I clapped and laughed and Dr. BB rolled his eyes, but I could tell he was happy with my enthusiasm.
Saturday we drove down to the in-laws, watched the kids engage in water play on the Slip 'n' Slide, ate way too many brats and peanut M&Ms, played in the driveway with tricycles and scooters. Once the kids were sent on their way to pass out in their carseats and beds, we went with my mother- and father-in-law, set up lawn chairs on the top of a parking garage (again with the sweatshirts!), and watched giant fireworks over the Mississippi River.
