11.8 Love - Budding

Bestest Friend and I are in the middle of a blog project. Each day of the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a little something about it. The theme for the eighth day of each month is "Love."

WEATHER UPDATE: It's still getting below freezing at night, but we're regularly getting into the high 40s and 50s during the day. Tomorrow we have been promised thunderstorms and THANKS TO ALL THE HEAVENS for that.

The cat, my cat, the one who lives in our tiny apartment with us, she really, really, really wants to go outside. She stands in the middle of the stairs, meowing and screaming at us. She sits at the screen door, pawing at the glass. She darts out the door when we open it, attempting to make a daring escape.

But the thing is that we can't let her out because there's still salt all over the sidewalks. I will happily take her outside on her harness, but I can't take the chance that she'd get that crap in her fuzzy paws and then ingest it while grooming herself, so we have been anticipating a good downpour.

But some shrubs are budding despite the freezing temps at night. Some flowers are starting to come up, including these purple things that are a bit worse for last night, I'm afraid.
