Are you participating in CBWC? Have you seen anything fun on a walk this week?
I am officially participating but have been down with a fever on Sunday and am just on the mend. Hence I haven't left the house in a week. My plan to slowly get back into it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYou on the other hand has walked a million miles already.
LOL. Hardly a million miles. I hear about some folks with hardcore smart dogs like border collies who take their dogs out for a five mile run before and after work and I am so glad my dog is a low-energy sloth.
DeleteThat dog is well taken care of.
ReplyDeleteThe dog takes good care of her people is the real truth.
DeleteAwww. LOVE THIS <3
DeleteMy favorite dog walk of the week was one that Doggo chose for us. We always go out together to get the mail in the afternoon. The mailbox is on the other side of the street, so normally we cross the street and we'll stroll around for a bit before getting the mail and coming back home. Well, this time Doggo decided to turn our mail run into a bonus walk, and I was all in.
ReplyDeleteMy insurance has a rewards program where I get $2 for every 50k steps up to a max of $60 a year, and I'm a bit over the halfway point. I love getting "paid" to walk.
Doggo wants OUT! What a lovely way for her to exert control of her life.
DeleteI do not give the insurance any information about my lifestyle. There's a program where they take your weight, blood pressure, etc. and pay your $150 and I REFUSE. I am convinced that someday they're going to find out about some dread disease and refuse to cover me.
I mean, you and I are always in the walking club! Rexie and I saw a beaver dam, a man with an Easter bunny mascot head on a motorcycle, a few coyotes, and of course all of our usual walking path friends! We are just about to head out for today's adventure.
ReplyDeleteRabbit head on a motorcycle!! I can't tell if that's hilarious or terrifying!
DeleteYay for Family Walk!
ReplyDeleteHannah is a well-exercised girl. She outdoes Molly, the black standard poodle in our neighbourhood who is walked twice a day in all weather and with no coat or sweater. Molly and I have finally become friends after several years, a first for both her and me.
I'm not officially a Member, but I walk about 45-60 minutes a day, weather and migraine permitting. Rick and I walked on Friday--a rare occurrence because walking is Me Time. Earlier in the week, I was able to see two of my dog friends, a Dalmatian and a little white fluffy thing, in their back yard and give them a biscuit. And I could smell hyacinths (even though some people still have not taken down all of their Xmas decor/lights yet).
Standard poodles rock! I think if we ever get another dog (we cannot afford another dog), we'd get a standard poodle. But the grooming costs must be out of this world. *sigh* Maybe just another mutt.
DeleteYou are a member! You're doing the work! We have some Christmas lights still, too! And some St. Patrick's Day flags. And one house still has a purple witch out from Halloween. Who even knows what time of year it is based on outdoor decor?
As always I am blown away by how much walking you two fit in. And I was sitting wondering if Dr. BB ever joins you and then he made a cameo appearance.
ReplyDeleteIt has been cold, windy, and overcast for every single walk so I've seen a lot of grey and puddles. But I wouldn't have been walking at all without the club (see "grey" and "puddles"). I guess the most fun thing was the walk I took with my husband and son. They were ahead of me and my son reached out at one point to grab my husbands hand as they walked and talked together and my heart MELTED.
Dr. BB rarely comes with us, to be honest. He is usually doing another chore when we walk (or practicing his guitar). If you had done CBWC in March, I would have been the one with grey and puddles, so I appreciate it in April instead!
DeleteI'm participating but where I walk there is nothing worth photographing. BUT I did log 25 minutes today.
ReplyDeleteYou'll notice there's a lot of dog in my photos. She's the only thing worth photographing in my world!
DeleteIs the Cool Blogger's Walking Club just and excuse for us to see more pictures of Hannah? I'm here for that.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid of failure, so I haven't *officially* declared participation in the Cool Blogger's Walking Club, but I do usually do find time to walk during the day. This week was funky at work and I didn't get out at lunch like I usually do. I did make my oldest go on a 9pm walk one evening when I got home from work one evening. This week I also saw tulips in so many yards and that was delightful.
I'm not sure what Elisabeth's intent was for CBWC, but I certainly have decided it's the best way to showcase my pretty girl!
DeleteTulips already!?!? Wow! I just saw my first daffodil last week, although the ones in our yard aren't up yet. I am envious of your early spring.
Love the sunrise pic! My walks have been confined to the treadmill because it's still too cold out in the morning and I don't have a Hannah to walk.
ReplyDeleteHa. I do not think it's cold anymore. I haven't worn my winter coat in weeks!
DeleteI have to acclimate, ha. If this were December I'd be thrilled over how warm it is.
DeleteAw, Hannah is a lucky girl! And once again I think you're winning the walking challenge (what? it's not? Oh...) Anyway once again I'm not participating- I couldn't really tell you why- and I'm having FOMO.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a competition! Also, our walks are meanders, you know? She stops to sniff and chew sticks A LOT.
DeleteYou can still join! No need for FOMO.
Hannah pictures are the best! I'm in the club, and have been looking for beauty in my urban suburb. The most interesting thing I've seen so far was on Friday, I saw a goose sitting in the middle of a walkway, with orange cones protecting her from being bothered. Was she laying an egg? I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the story about the goose with a nest in the Wrigley Field bleachers? They have the whole section cordoned off so that the goose can be in peace!
DeleteMy participation has been pretty pitiful... work has been nutty and then we had Will's surgery on Friday which threw things off. I got out on Sat and Sun. Sat was a run/walk, Sun I walked to church with Paul and played I spy and then we went for a family walk along the creek later in the day. I'm hoping to walk to school to pick up Paul today.
ReplyDeleteYou do what you can do. Life can get in the way and you just try the next day, right?
DeleteHannah is a beauty! I have been walking, and I swear I can see the grass growing day by day!
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of growth happening in our yard. It's already unmanageable and the trees haven't budded yet!
DeleteI’m noticing a pattern here. Ha. My guess is Hannah chewed sticks and you rolled in the grass? Hooray for a family walk. Coach and I did a lot of couples walks thru the streets of Florence. I took so many pictures of the narrow streets with the cute buildings. I want Mini to paint one for me.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am all for rolling in the grass! It's the best way to feel close to nature.
DeleteHurrah for family walk! I am guessing that you chewed sticks and Hannah rolled in the grass. :) It seems like Hannah is your true accountability buddy! Without her, you would have to plan to go out and walk on your own, which is not half as fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's true! I would not spend nearly as much time outside if it weren't for her. Thank goodness for dogs!!
DeleteIt's clear that having a (cool) dog (like Hannah) really helps you get your walks in. I am so impressed how much time you spend outside with her...
ReplyDeleteThat was me :)
DeleteHaving a dog does mean I'm out there rain or shine. I have to admit that walking with her in the morning is a great way to start the day and I don't know what I'd do without our walks!
