#SecretSANtaSwap 2023

You know what was a delightful surprise for me when I got home on Friday after work? My fun package from Anne for San's Secret SANta Swap!

I don't remember what I put as information about myself that Anne received, but I think it was something like I like the color purple and am obsessed with my dog and my cat. I think we can all agree that's all you need to know about me, right? (Does anyone remember that old skool blog called She Likes Purple? It looks like she last posted in 2016. Hi, Jennie! if you still read here. ANYWAY. I was always really jealous of her blog title. Note to self: Someday move away from a blogspot blog and get yourself the domain name ObsessedWithPets. Note to readers: I'm too lazy to do that.)

So I was so excited to see what Anne got me based on that limited information.

A postcard with a note from Anne! Lovely purple notecards from PaperSource. Some candied pecans. Dark chocolates from Gail Ambrosius in Madison. And scarf-wearing dog and cat ornaments!  What an absolutely delightful haul for me.  It is possible that those delicious treats will be in my belly before this post even goes live.

And the ornaments?

The eyelashes are amazeballs.

Already on the tree!

This dog has a slightly worried expression, which seems perfectly appropriate to me.

I didn't send my swap partner's gift out until Friday afternoon, so who knows when they'll get it! Hopefully soon, person who lives in an abutting state with lots of children!

Don't forget that if you want a holiday card from me, email me or fill out this form by the end of the day today!

Did you sign up for San's gift exchange? Have you gotten yours already?!

  6. I love this! Anne obviously knows you well- those gifts are perfect. I love the ornaments, and yes, the dog looks slightly worried (something about the line of his mouth, ha ha.) I did sign up for San's gift exchange, and mailed my package out last week. How exciting! I love secret Santas.

  7. So cute! Your Secret SANta did a great job.

I mailed mine and USPS says it was delivered, so presumably she is saving it to open later, which is fine. I haven't received mine yet, which is also fine! I enjoy anticipation.

Anne sent me some of those pecans last year and I think they should be kept behind the pharmacy counter they are SO ADDICTIVE.

    1. Hmmm...maybe I should put the pecans in my office so they can be a reward for when I do hard things!

    1. I think I might have found you through Jennie? Jennie, if you're out there, we all miss you! (Also, did you ever read the blog Princess Nebraska? I miss her, too. We were book opposites, but that was part of the fun.)

    1. I will admit that it was another THING to do in a busy time of year and I'm not sure I'll be up for it again. But it was fun to get my package, so maybe?! It's a tough call. We'll see what my headspace is like next year.

  14. Anne was my Secret Santa last year and she did an AMAZING job, so it's not surprise to me that she did such a great job with your package this year! I just received my package from Daria this week and it was such a delight. I mailed out my package on Saturday - need to check if it's arrived!

  15. Awww, thanks, everyone. Engie made it super-easy, saying that she loved stationary (although I'd have to completely lack reading comprehension not to know that at this point... ;>) and purple. The ornaments were easy, too, for someone who loves her cat and dog so wholeheartedly. (And Engie, I wasn't sure re: Dr. BB's allergies so I did figure you could take the snacks in in case they were triggers!) I'm so glad you liked it. San, thank you so much for coordinating this!!

    1. Yay! Very nice job, Anne. I am laughing because I honestly have no memory of what I wrote about what I liked, so the notecards were a fun surprise!
