8.20 Message - Dog Park

Bestest Friend and I are doing a blog project. Every day we will write a blog post on a pre-determined theme chosen by a random noun generator. The theme for the twentieth day of the month is "Message." I have decided that I'm going to write about the last photo message I sent via text.

*****************

Late last week, I took Hannah to the dog park. It was a tiny bit hot and I remembered to bring water for Hannah, but not for myself, so I gave out long before she did. Anyway, I sent a photo of Hannah being a happy dog at the dog park to Dr. BB. That's the last photo message I sent to someone. (Well, I did send a photo of Hannah refusing to eat her dinner to Bestest Friend on Sunday night but I've already complained about this development in Hannah's life, so it's not riveting content, is it?)

He responded by sending me a photo of where he hid the house keys because I forgot to bring them with me when I left and he was taking the second car to go to work.

You probably didn't need to know this, but it just seems so symbolic of our entire marriage.

Me: Excitement over the mundane!
Him: Tone it down. Don't forget the logistics.
I felt like not including the photo of Hannah refusing to eat was not in the spirit of this prompt. Her bowl is full. She is pointedly ignoring it and not making eye contact with us. This is my life.

What's the last photo message you sent?

  1. That's a good key hiding place! I always love these posts, and your question- usually my answer is really, really boring, like a screen shot of some form my husband needs to fill out (yawn.) But this time the last photo message was to my sister, showing her our dinner on Sunday (what? That's not exciting? Ha ha...)

    1. I am fascinated by food photos. The food itself might be super exciting, but photos rarely are. Ha. I'm going to post a photo of food tomorrow, so I'm a hypocrite extraordinaire on this topic!

  2. Maybe Hannah is tired of fighting for her food in the maze bowl. Could you try a different bowl or would she still wolf it down?

The last photo message I sent was to a group chat, and it was a photo of the sunset over the lake from our boat. We had some of the haze from the Canadian wildfire, and the colour was really lovely.

Great stash place for the keys.

    1. Hmmm...we used the slow feeder because she used to gulp her food. That's a good idea and maybe I'll switch to a more traditional bowl if she doesn't show a bit more enthusiasm soon.

The pollution from the wildfires is not great for the environment, but it sure does lead to some beautiful vistas, doesn't it?

  3. Lol, the marriage thing. I think my last photo message was a photo of Rex to my older son at work. Nothing exciting, just him sleeping. I wanted to tell you I started listening to that 60 songs about the 90s podcast and thanks for the recommendation. I love it! I was a young woman in the 90s and every single song and every single lyric on this pod was burned into my brain so it's very fun to listen to and remember where I was and what I was doing when each song was popular. So thanks!

    1. That podcast has really reignited my interest in music. I'm listening to a Spotify list right now that I added a bunch of Alanis, Tracy Chapman, Bonnie Raitt, and Jewel to. I just think the host is so enthusiastic about these songs and it makes me happy that he's so happy to be talking about them!

  4. Oh I hope Hannah's eating is resolved soon!
My Husband would never send a picture of where he stashed the key - he's a little paranoid about our information being hacked. But we just have a keybox out back now - it was the easiest solution what with the 11 year old coming home after school on her own and friends' needing to come over to feed the fish when we were gone and what not.
The last photo I sent was this morning to my friend who was in town visiting - I texted her some selfies that we had taken trying on hats in a fancy hat store. I need to remember to take more pictures with my friends. My photo roll can't *just* be pictures of my kids.

    1. My photo roll is mostly my dog and cat, so...I feel you. I really need to expand my universe of photogenic things and events.

  5. You should see the text exchanges with my husband. I am far more verbose over text. The history is blocks of text with me, followed by him saying "Yes" "sure" or "ok." The last photo I sent was a screen shot of something from our daycare parent slack. The last fun photo I sent was picture of Paul trying on glasses to my sister + other pics of the boys. Since I am not on social media, we have to exchange kid pics over the phone.

    1. Ha! I can only envision your text string with Phil. My husband tends to just call if he wants to say something longer than a sentence, so there's not much from him, either. Just short and sweet messages.

    So representative.

I think the last photo message I sent was a series of memes. My bestie sends me funny memes several times a week and then I share them with other friends and I LOVE it. Little bright spots in my day/week.

    1. Marriage, right? I feel like that text exchange should be engraved into our tombstones. They loved each other. Here's proof.

  7. My husband and I communicate almost entirely in pictures of the dog for our texts. And grocery lists;-)

    1. Ours is actually a lot of photos of the cat because her expressions are priceless. Hannah is sober or goofy, but Zelda has some real attitude that demonstrates a lot!

  8. She's a strange one.

    1. Indeed. She fits in well in our house.

  9. I screen shotted a message from Zappos telling a kid their Crocs are delayed LOL. Also, I am the only member of my family without Crocs, and I am not sad about it.

    1. I see a lot of people passionately defending Crocs as comfortable. That may be, but I can also passionately declare that they are ugly.

  10. My last photo message was a screenshot I sent to my girlfriend from a page about enneagram types as leaders. LOL - so very on brand for me.

  11. This made me chuckle! Tone it down! 😜
I send photo messages all the time, but I can't not think about Hannah refusing her dinner at the moment. Have you ever tried making homemade food? I've not had a dog resist it yet!

    1. Hannah's food needs are so specific that it's challenging to do anything except give her this food. I wish it were easier, but we've just got to get her to eat it.

  12. Haha, that's so funny. He's so practical. I definitely would have preferred to get the dog picture :) (but it's good to know where the key is, too).

The last photo I sent was of a hummingbird on my feeder :)

    1. I'm so impressed with your hummingbird feeder. Maybe next year I'll suck it up and put one out. No promises.

  13. It is funny how different your personalities are, and yet... you are clearly each other's person. :) I'm glad you had water for Hannah, but dude, don't forget to hydrate! It's hot as heck out there.

Last photo I sent? Oh, man, it's going to be boring, I know it...
And, yeah. It was a screenshot of the air quality index from last week, when we were in the red zone. Boorrring... :)
