Bestest Friend and I are doing a blog project. Every day we will write a blog post on a pre-determined theme chosen by a random noun generator. The theme for the twentieth day of the month is "Message." I have decided that I'm going to write about the last photo message I sent via text.

When I went to meet Humphrey the Puppy last weekend, I brought a welcome to the pack present for him that consisted of a raccoon toy and a rechargeable LED collar. The toy is because Dr. BB and I have an inside joke about raccoons that really doesn't matter to anyone else and the collar because Sir Humphrey is a black dog and he's going to be really hard to find in the dark if he runs away because he's spooked or something, plus it's an awesome fashion accessory for every dog.
My friend sent a photo of Humphrey playing with the toy and I couldn't have been more chuffed.
What presents do you give for new pet owners?
*Crickets* I have never given a single pet toy to anyone - ever.

DeleteDid you say chuffed? Do people in Wisconsin say chuffed? I thought only people in England (or other Commonwealth countries) said chuffed! Are you English? Oh and the puppy is very cute, but I have also never given any toys to dog owners. I am also not the aunt who give toys to kids; I give them books. If I could give a dog a book and they would read it, I would probably give more gifts to puppies...
ReplyDeleteI don't think people in Wisconsin say chuffed, but I watch a lot of a British show called Taskmaster, so I think in British now.

Ha ha, I noted the use of the word "chuffed" as well. I don't think I've ever given gifts to new pet owners, but I will from now on! And I'm very glad we got another photo of Humphrey!
ReplyDeleteI think of a new pet as a new member of the family and since I'd give someone a present if they had a new baby, it just follows that they get a gift for a new pet. I'm a person who shows love through gift-giving, so I guess that's something else to consider.

Humphrey is too cute. His owner reports that he is naughty and has tried to sneak out under the fence, so I think he's going to be a real troublemaker.

DeleteI love that you brought a puppy gift! I like going to Home Goods for pet gifts because they have a large selection and reasonable prices. We usually get a toy or a small blanket. ❤️

DeleteOMG. Humphrey. He is just the cutest. Did you get more snuggles in? I cannot WAIT for pics of him and Hannah together. I don't *think* I've seen those on IG yet, but maybe I'm mistaken?? And, have never had the opportunity to give a new pet gift, but if I did it would be a fleece blanket. Hands down. :)
ReplyDeleteHumphrey is so cute. He was pretty wired when we visited, so no snuggles, but plenty of playing and wrestling. He hasn't met Hannah yet because he's not fully vaccinated. Soon! But we all want to make sure Humphrey is fully protected before he becomes a full pack member.
