I actually had a friend approach me yesterday and ask if I would be an Accountability Partner on eating habits. It took me by surprise, but I'm actually really excited because it will go both ways and I've been struggling with a few specific habits lately!
ReplyDeleteAs I mention every month - these summary posts you do are so inspirational.
Having an accountability buddy has been so wonderful for me. My friend has really stepped up her game from 10-15 minute workouts to longer, harder workouts in the half a year or so we've been "working together." It's been so great to see her progress and it really does make me push myself sometimes to exercise when I'd rather not because I don't want to let her down. But it's hard to find the right person to buddy up with, so if you've found someone, go for it!
DeleteYou know, what strikes me so much about these monthly reports of yours is that you've mentioned in the past that working out isn't exactly a passion of yours, AND YET, you are amazingly consistent and varied in your exercise routine! In my work I see so many people in their 70s, 60s and even 50s who are in really terrible situations- in pain and can't move well- and it's almost always because they just didn't move enough. What you're doing is perfect to keep yourself healthy, for now and in the future. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the validation that I'm doing all of this so that I can age as gracefully as possible. My mantra when I'm doing something I really hate is "functional mobility."
DeleteIs the stretch class something that's online? I'm interested in doing something like that, to get a toe in the door of moving more.
ReplyDeleteYes, the stretch class is online! Our local health care group offers free 15-min stretch classes on M/W/F most weeks (except when the instructor is on vacation like she is this week). You do have to sign up for them, but they're free. This same group offers other paid classes throughout the week and I sign up for those and pay $20 a month to be able to attend all of them. Here's the link: https://www.forthealthcare.com/class/fort-healthcare-digital-class-series/
DeleteThanks! I'll check that out.
DeleteI'm very impressed!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! And I am glad you have an accountability buddy to rely on. It does help a lot!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
ReplyDeleteNice job! And I was going to ask about those stretching classes because I'm always looking for something like that, so I'm glad someone else did. I'm going to check out the link!
ReplyDeleteCommenting solely to say that pic in bottom row, second from left is GREAT!!! hahaha!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, way to go- amazing consistency!
Just my usual comment about how varied your workouts are, and how consistent. Also, I have not yet gone back to read the story of your bad leg (is it even posted here? I kind of assumed it was, but maybe not...) but I can sympathize regarding the impact of a long-ago injury/illness on one's ability to do something that used to be easy- or, that is easy at other times when said illness/injury is not acting up.
ReplyDeleteI did write a tiny bit about my leg here. Basically, I had a tib-fib fracture and it's a thing that impacts me every day.

Oh man, tib/fib fractures suck. I can only imagine the impact it has had on you and your daily life. Sorry you have to deal with that. :(
