She grew frustrated by his inertia and attachment to a life she found stultifying and suffocating.

She stopped including him in her dreams.
He stayed.
She left.
Years later he was still there.
She heard from someone who heard from someone else who heard from someone else who talked to him mom that he pined for her.
He was still there.
She felt guilty for her part in his lonely life.
He was still there.
She never wanted to go back.
