Bestest Friend and I are in the middle of a blog project. Each day of
the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a
little something about it. The theme for the thirtieth day of each month is "Contemplate."

Tomorrow is the last day I will force myself to sit down and write something here for this writing project. Reflecting on writing every day for a year has taught me some things about myself.
I am not passionate about writing. I love having a record of this year and I even love that I had to write about the minutiae of daily living (someday I will CARE about every damn CSA basket we got last summer), but I will never again force myself to churn out 150 words each day because it nearly destroyed my marriage with the sheer amount of whining I did about having to post for the past 363 days.
If you LOVE something, you'll do it each day without resentment and without thinking. I am pretty much only passionate about playing with my cat and reading.
I talked to a co-worker recently and was waxing on about how everyone should read Ready Player One (you've read it, right?) and he sort of looked at me quizzically. "How do you have time to read for pleasure after you read all day for work?"
"How do you NOT read for pleasure?" I read constantly. At the table eating breakfast. While I'm brushing my teeth. Before bed at night. All the damn time.
But writing. It's not my thing.
So after tomorrow, I will go back to sporadically posting here.
But I have enjoyed the photography aspect of this project, so I might do some more picture based projects just to make sure this space stays an active part of my life.
