Flashback to a Saturday night in February in 1999. You can find me in my friend's dorm room, watching her play Final Fantasy Tactics, scarfing up breadsticks from Papa John's, and falling asleep with a textbook glued to my hand.
So when that friend and I were together for a random Saturday night in 2015, just outside of a metropolitan area filled with a million things we could have been doing, you better believe that when she suggested that we play a board game and order some food to be delivered, I was absolutely on board.
I've discussed Pandemic here before, so I will just briefly reiterate that it's an awesome game. The version we bought is much nicer than the version Dr. BB and I own (the blocks are now plastic instead of wood, the tiles are plastic instead of cardboard, and there are a couple of new roles), so I'm a tiny bit jealous that my friend gets the deluxe version.
We saved the world once and killed everyone in the world once. I think that's a pretty good average.
*I haven't cooked anything in a week. I'm surviving on popcorn and granola bars. But we kind of cooked up mischief, inasmuch as two people who never leave a hotel room can be mischievous.

There are expansions to the game, dude!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I love that you remember Final Fantasy Tactics. Like, that you remember the specific name of the game. (I still play it. Yep.)
