It's Cool Blogger Walking Club (CBWC) time. Hosted by Elisabeth, we're trying for ten minutes of intentional movement every day.

We decorated our house for Halloween. This is the time of year when the fact that we are derelict in our landscaping duties serves us well because the house looks creepy as you know what. Hannah and I went for several walks, including one before bed.

Dr. BB is sick (negative COVID and flu tests, but absolutely miserable) and H and I have been taking LOOOOONG walks so we're out of his blast radius.

More long walks for me and the dog. Isn't this a pretty autumnal scene?

I had a bit of a later start to day and was able to walk the dog just as the sun was popping up. Don't we live in a gorgeous place?

I had a series of vaccines yesterday and felt like hot garbage all day with a temperature, body aches, and a splitting headache. Poor Hannah only got two walks around the block. However, it was a rainy day, so Hannah didn't really mind spending her day inside.

What a beautiful place I live in. Hannah and I had a couple of slow walks today, soaking in autumn.

| Do you see the grey collar? It's a Seresto collar, which is a very effective flea and tick treatment. If you have a dog, I highly recommend it. We leave it on her all the time, even when she's getting baths! |

Me and my girl had a couple of long walks. After work she was raring to go, so it was a long and quick walk. I fear for her old bones in the next couple of days, but that's what she wanted!

Do you have beautiful fall colors where you are? Do you decorate you house for Halloween?

We still have colour but are long past peak. We get a walk in on most days. We were in the woods yesterday. I’ll post that tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWe are also far past peak, but there are still some completely green trees. It's so weird.
DeleteHow is Dr. BB? Hoping he is feeling better and that you are out of the contagion zone.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos. You do live in a very beautiful part of the world.
We still have fall color here but the trees tend more toward bare every day.
(This is Suzanne.)
Dr. BB is okayish. He's still masking and sleeping in the spare room and feeling exhausted. He has been going to work for the last couple of days and then coming home and collapsing. It's a slow recovery, but he'll get there.
DeleteI feel lucky to live in such a pretty place!
I feel the same as you - if the dog wants to take a longer walk or more walks, then I am all for it.
ReplyDeleteOur colors are less intense this year but even less color is still gorgeous color. Left to my own devices I don't decorate for the holidays, but Hubs makes up for it. We have some Halloween lights and a collection of tombstones and bones in the yard.
Ha! Left to my own devices, I don't even know what I'd do. Maybe I'd decorate? Maybe that would be too ambitious for me? I am the one who bought all the lights for the outside, though, so I think I would decorate.
DeleteIt's a pretty time of year! The colours around here are spectacular as well.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty. I'm trying hard not to think about what's next.
DeleteBeautiful pictures! The trees are on the early side of turning around here. I like to decorate for fall more than Halloween, so I buy a pumpkin but don’t carve it. A squirrel, whom we shall call ‘Peter Peter’ was taking big hunks out, which we were mostly OK with, but then it started turning brown and there were flies buzzing around, so it had to go. Sigh. Stupid squirrel. See tomorrow’s post (Wednesday) for photographic evidence.
ReplyDeleteNaughty Peter Peter! Why is he ruining all your fun?!
DeleteYou have a lovely smile.
ReplyDeleteWe don't decorate for Halloween. I leave that to the rest of the neighbourhood, which goes so overboard so early that it is gauche and overwhelming. I have a tasteful autumn wreath on my door.
So sorry to hear that Dr. BB is sick! I dread having illness in the house. When Rick was working, I feared every sneeze or cough and immediately drilled him: "Are you sick? Are people at your work sick?" Now that he is retired and at home, I feel much safer.
You really do live in a beautiful place. I know Hannah appreciates it, too.
Thanks for the compliment, Nance. I try not to let my bad teeth get in the way!
DeleteDo you think our lights are guache? I am on the fence about it. I think they are just creepy enough to make me happy.
The photos are so pretty. You do live in a really beautiful area. Coach and I walked the other evening and I took a pic of the sunset. It was behind the trees which were dark in the foreground and framed it so nicely. Sorry to hear Dr. BB is sick. That stinks. I totally understand getting out in the fresh air and trying to steer clear of catching it. I babysit for a toddler and her baby brother and their noses have been running since they started back in August. It is non-stop and my hands are raw from washing them. Ugh. Occupational hazard.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I'm not changing my behavior AT ALL with Dr. BB being sick and I'm fine. Illnesses are SO WEIRD.
DeleteWe do still have colours, but a lot of leaves got rained off last week. Your walks always do look very pretty. I also love that your 'bad walk day' when you feel like crap still has two walks in it - you are a force.
ReplyDeleteI only decorated this year because Eve and her friends were home and I had to get the box out - I haven't been feeling it as much the last few years, but I always put enough stuff out that it's obvious I want trick or treaters to come here.
So, this is a legitimate question. You have a dog - don't you have to take Lucy out no matter what? Hannah WILL NOT do a #2 in our yard, so taking her out for ten minutes a couple times a day has to happen no matter what's going on in our house. I was in better shape than Dr. BB, so I was the one who had to do the walk.
DeleteThe Autumn colours are so beautiful, I love those two bright red trees—stunning! Hannah doesn't mind your Halloween decorations? Or do you make sure they aren't the type that freak her out? We do not decorate for Halloween (not really a thing here, but it is being heavily pushed by the major chain stores so more people are doing it now than ten years ago). It's Spring here so the leaves are sprouting on our deciduous trees. One is fully covered in our garden and the other trees leaves are just starting to unfurl.
ReplyDeleteWe are SO LUCKY that after the first year with us, Hannah figured out *most* decorations. Lights and inflatables rarely get her. There are some wooden decorations that can freak her out and plastic bags or things that make rustling noises can be a problem, but the vast majority of decorations get ignored by her and that is GREAT NEWS.
DeleteYour trees are sprouting and our leaves are falling off. So is the way the earth is designed, I guess!
