You know what October brings us? CBWC!
The Cool Bloggers Walking Club (CBWC) is starting on Wednesday! Participants will aim for ten minutes of intentional movement every day in October. Walk, dance, jump, run, whatever! Elisabeth is the organizer for this and she even has a printable tracker for your use.
As you all know, Hannah and I are big CBWC fans. But this year I'm setting some new parameters for myself. During these ten minutes, I cannot listen to podcasts or audiobooks. I either listen to music or silence. I think this will make those ten minutes more intentional. Additionally, I'll be going to Michigan a couple of weekends in this, so I need to make sure I take time for myself even in stressful times. I can do ten minutes a day.
Who else is in for CBWC? Do you have a favorite playlist?
Yes!!! I am looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of bringing intention to this practice and may join you. Although I don’t ever listen to music while I walk! It’s either a book or nothing. (And by nothing I mean the cacophony of my own thoughts, lol.)
(This is Suzanne.)
I very rarely listen to music at all, to be honest. Maybe this will rekindle some of my love of music.
DeleteI am tempted.
ReplyDeleteDo it!
DeleteI've failed to be a cool walking blogger in the past, but this time I've said I'll do it! I want to start incorporating more walking as cross training, so this will be a good way to get started. I almost always listen to podcasts while walking or running- I save music for the very end of a long run if I'm getting tired.
ReplyDeleteI listen to music if I'm on a long drive by myself. Otherwise I'm all podcast/audiobooks. But I think this is a good way for me to pay more attention to the outdoor world.
DeleteI’m in for sure. I walk almost every day anyway, so this is easy for me, but I know in the past a couple of times CBWC has been the reason I didn’t skip a walk.
ReplyDeleteBecause of Hannah, I never skip a day! But this is a nice way to do it in an intentional way. And maybe I'll even take Hannah somewhere new for brand new sniffs.
DeleteOh, yes. I think I can do this. I know I want to. And Rick will come with.
ReplyDeleteYay! I hope it works out that you can do it, Nance. I know your health has made walking more complicated.
DeleteAww. This made my day! I loved your shout-out AND I love how you're being so intentional about switching things up and carving out 10-minutes of time for music or silence.
ReplyDeleteTell Hannah I can't wait to hear about all her walking adventures in October. Fingers crossed for great weather!!
I have no doubt that the weather is going to be amazing for all of us doing CBWC! How could it be otherwise?
DeleteI already do this on my own, but I'll cheer you all along! Just last week, on my way home, I saw you walking Hannah over by the fire station. I'm always tempted to roll my window down but afraid you'll think I'm some weird random creep, ha.
ReplyDeleteHa! Lots of people yell at us, to be honest. I just wave and assume I know who it is.
DeleteHannah and I always do this every month, but I'm just going to be a little more intentional this time around.
I am excited to try this CBWC (even if my walking is still a work in progress, haha). I am such a playlist person; I make a new one every quarter. Back in the day, I made monthly mix cds for my car that I’d plan out songs (and mental storylines) for and I just never grew out of it.
ReplyDeleteI find playlists take SO MUCH TIME to put together. I'm impressed you do one every quarter! You must have a vast storage of musical information.
DeleteDoggo and I are in for CBWC! My goal for this round is to actually take some pictures.
ReplyDeleteMy CBWC photos are almost always of Hannah. There's nothing wrong with that when your subject is absolutely adorable.
DeleteI'm in - but I will be listening to an audiobook while I walk because I can't bear to listen to the thoughts in my head right now! Maybe I'll even be able to toss in a photo or two.
ReplyDeleteRight? The thoughts in my head are tough, which is why I gave myself the music out. I can't wait to see where everybody walks!
DeleteI am planning to do this. Tues and Thurs will be hard because I will have 5 littles and my stroller only fits 4. But after work walks will be my goal and a nice chance to reset. I currently like 80s mix for a playlist. I usually listen to a rosary podcast when I walk or run.
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I don't take for granted is my ability to just go for a walk sometimes in the middle of the day. I don't have to watch tiny humans!
DeleteA bit funny, I've been trying to get back to listening to something on my walks. I have Aftershocks, which I love, but it's been so long since I used them I'm not sure I remember how. I get overwhelmed by all the steps involved. I'm going to try really hard to do CBWC even on work days, when I usually get home exhausted.
ReplyDeleteI make a new playlist every few weeks, but right now I'm still stuck on Legally Blonde. It's starting to drive me crazy but I can't quite make myself move on. My brain is annoying.
I find that I have been skipping PT on days when I work and I'm exhausted. It's so hard to even want to think about pushing myself when I'm tired, so I get this. If I didn't have Hannah, I wouldn't go on half the walks I do!
DeleteI’m in! I don’t listen to anything when I’m walking outdoors, but maybe I should try! I could listen to The Joy luck club and walk, making it the CBBWC.
ReplyDeleteYay! Combine it into one super fun activity.
DeleteIt will be my first time joining the CBWC, as I am not a blogger, unless you consider a blog-reader a blogger. :) I walk soo many steps at work but plan on joining my hubby and puppy, Freya, on their walks every day (except for the day I work 12 hours-I will use my morning workout as my "walk"). We have a beautiful neighborhood so it will not be difficult.
