Things People Have Messaged Me

From Bestest Friend

I promptly sent her all the pig emojis on my phone.

From Dr. BB who was at graduation

From my neighbor who saw me "walking" Hannah

It has taken a turn for cold here and you'll note I'm wearing pants and a sweatshirt, but I'm still rockin' sandals. You cannot make me wear socks again until October. It was forty freedom degrees (4.4 Celsius for people who use such things) this morning and I had on a coat, hat, AND gloves. Still sandals.

What's the last image you got in your text messages?

The last image I have is my daughter's cat. We thought she was dying when we stopped by on Saturday for a pat, and I was so worried. ( She's 18 yrs old and very creaky and had health scare before- the cat, not my daughter.) Sunday morning I get a picture of the cat looking sassy - like she wants to speak to the manager about poor service! So Rusty defies expectations and continues on!

    1. Go Rusty!! Eighteen years is amazing for a cat!

  2. A picture of my niece's BRAND NEW BABY! Eeks. I cannot believe I'm a great aunt. Mostly I can't believe he lives in South Carolina and I'm stuck in stupid Nova Scotia with no great-nephew to hold. *Sob*

  3. The last image was from Saturday night when the girls and I went out - it's just the four of us in our movie chairs. I would like to give a boost for Celsius - it makes so much sense! Zero is freezing, 100 is boiling. None of this 32 nonsense. #TeamCelsius

    1. I think it's just what you're used to. I find it so disorienting when I'm somewhere with Celsius, but I'm sure I'd get used to it.

  4. I'm sure the last image I got is one from graduation- my husband and son and I were texting photos back and forth to each other. I like Dr. BB in his grad garb!

  7. My daughter sent me a picture of her book fair haul - a graphic novel, a novel, and a pen that smells like grape - to prove she didn't buy 2 non-book items. She loves books, but 2 years ago she bought a gigantic kitten poster that created the need for boundaries with other people's money haha! It was as tall as her....

    1. Ha! I think a gigantic kitten posters sounds like a fun find, though. I am probably not a good role model...

  8. My daughter-in-law sent me a photo of Theo smiling hugely because he has just learned how to say Cheese now for photos and thinks it's really funny.

I absolutely love that you indulge Hannah and let her have stick time--and that enormous branch! She's so happy! But you made me cold knowing your feet were in sandals with the temps in the forties. NO WAY. I put my furnace back on this morning; it was 44 degrees outside and 64 in the house. My nose was ice.

    1. I mean, I don't know if it's possible to NOT indulge Hannah. She just plops down and starts chewing. I can't really stop it!

We had to turn on the heat Sunday night. *sigh* I thought we were done with this nonsense, but the next week looks terrible.

  9. My SIL sent a photo of her mother, my MIL, hugging a tin of cookies we'd sent MIL. She had a grin like a kid. It was sweetness.

  12. The last texted photo I got was of a photo Coach took with his phone of our family at graduation. I took some, he took some. Lots of great photos. I'm in the same chilly boat as you, and I'm anxiously awaiting the warmth of summer. Bring it.

  13. Oh way that is commitment 4.4°C and in sandals. Weather is crazy here right now.Gloomy, sudden burtst of sun and then huge hail storms. Today we are back to sunshine and 23°C.

I have no clue what the last text was. I would have to get up and check my phone. It must have been from two or three days ago.

    1. 23C is PERFECT. I am envious over here.

I get texts all day every day. I am also envious that your last text was two or three days ago!

  14. A picture of Lucy in Eve's room - Eve had to put a blanket on the floor for her to chill because Eve was trying to reorganize her room after moving home and Lucy kept pacing around being a pain in the butt.
Turned cold here again too. I will wear tiny socks in runners, but I will not wear long pants or sleeves again until fall.

    1. A picture of Lucy is ALWAYS welcome.

It's been cold and rainy here for the last few days and the foreseeable, so I finally did cave and bring back socks and real shoes. Boo.

Last photo I received was from Birchie, of us at a beautiful mansion, and it’s a great picture except I should have taken my stupid hat off. It was really sunny yesterday!

44 degrees and sandals. In Florida, that's boots weather. HAHA.
