Cool Bloggers Walking Club - Week 5

It is time for another round of Cool Bloggers Walking Club (CBWC), as organized by Elisabeth. Try to walk ten minutes day and show us where you've been!

Sunday, April 27
31-minute walk with Hannah before bed

I'm wearing a summer dress and sandals! Hannah's wearing a smile and her winter coat.

Monday, April 28
40-minute morning walk with Hannah - She's such a good dog.
28-minute walk with Hannah after work - Very windy and 80 degrees. We had a lot of fun. This taste of summer has made me super excited.
34-minute walk with Hannah before bed

Tuesday, April 29
37-minute morning walk with Hannah along the riverwalk - The high for today was this morning, so I tried to stay out as long as I could and still get to work on time. I saw a muskrat in the river and I thought that was really fun.
31-minute "walk" with Hannah after work - I have to admit that we really walked three blocks, Hannah collected some sticks, and then we walked back to our house where Hannah chewed those sticks in the driveway for twenty minutes.
43-minute walk with Hannah before bed.

Morning on the Rock.

Wednesday, April 30
40-minute morning walk with Hannah along the riverwalk. After a couple of lovely days, I was back to a coat, hat, and gloves this morning.
35-minute walk with Hannah after work.
28-minute walk with Hannah before bed.

Not to brag, but those are TULIPS behind the dog. TULIPS. The promised May flowers are HERE. Eagle eyed readers might notice a bit of an issue with Hannah's fur here. Stay tuned for more on that later this week.

Thursday, May 1
52-minute "walk" with Hannah after work - It was pouring this morning, so H didn't get a walk this morning. She was suuuuper pumped for a walk after work, but we did a 38-minute mile, so I want you all to imagine the sniffing and stick chewing that was going on.
32-minute walk with Hannah before bed.

There are sticks to destroy.

Friday, May 2
34-minute morning walk with Hannah - coat and hat type of morning.
52-minute walk after work with Hannah

But chewing sticks is hard work.

Saturday, May 3
35-minute morning walk with Hannah - First outdoor Farmers Market of the season took us a bit by surprise. Spring is here!
15-minute walk with Hannah after lunch - There was gunfire at the range and Hannah was not having it.
30-minute walk with Hannah before bed.

And that's a wrap on CBWC for April! Do you have tulips where you are (if not, I'm sorry for bragging)? What's your favorite sign of spring?

  1. Yes, Wisconsin, we've had our tulips out for a couple of weeks now, and our daffodils are pretty much done. Sigh. I already miss them as much as I miss the flowering trees, which are also done now. Still, it's always worth it.

How wonderful to see Hannah's huge smile next to yours (and sunglasses)! It's a shame that she is so overworked that she has to rest right there on the job.

Northeast Ohio is now locked in an eternal rain system. It's cold and wet and miserable for the forseeable. I hope you're escaping this.

    1. Oh, yeah, the flowering trees are flowering right now. Personally, it's an allergy nightmare, so I'm going to be pumped for when that's over!

It has NOT been rainy here - KNOCK ON ALL THE WOOD. (Okay, fine. It rained on Friday.) All it did was rain in April and I am OVER IT.

  2. We do have tulips! So exciting to see them. Lol, a 38 minute mile - been there!

    1. I mean, our average is probably around a 20 minute mile, but this was BEYOND slow. It's a good thing she's cute.

  3. Yes, Hannah is such a good dog!!! I love every single photo. I can't believe you were in sandals one day, and hat and gloves two days later. Oh wait, I grew up in the midwest so I can believe it.
We've been pretty dry here, but our rainy season is about to start. Also, heat, humidity and hurricanes. Yes, "spring" in Florida is like fall in the midwest- I have a feeling of impending doom.

    1. Oh, no. I am so excited for summer and to be able to go outside without having to dress in layers! I would not be excited about humidity or hurricanes, that's for sure.

  4. We planted a couple dozen tulips in our yard and they are in full bloom right now! Unfortunately, so are the dandelions.

    1. There's nothing wrong with dandelions. They're good for pollinators and for nearby plants. Your grass doesn't have to be solely green to be wonderful!

  5. I love the photo of you and Hannah smiling! Our tulips are coming up, but no flowers yet. I zoomed in to see a little chonk of Hannah's fur missing. I'm eager to read about what happened!

    1. It's so rare that you get a full out doggy grin from Hannah. I knew she was just as excited about the weather as I was.

Our daffodils and tulips are done, but my irises are blooming! And my yard has a carpet of violets as I haven't had my son mow yet. Hannah looks so happy on the walks.

    1. Oh, wow! Irises already! You are definitely further ahead in the cycle than we are.

  7. That picture of you and Hannah is amazing. And so many adorable pictures of Hannah! I love that you get out together so many times each day, and that you give her plenty of stick and sniff time.

    1. She is my favorite girl and I'm happy I can provide her with walks and enrichment. I mean, if I don't do it, she'll be insane in the house, right?

  8. I’m ignoring the fur comment, but hoping that it is not a harbinger of bad news. *placing fingers in my ears and saying ‘la la la la’ loudly.

Great pictures, I love that you got a smile out of her! She’s such a stoic dog generally.

We are well past the tulip stage around here. Our green hills are almost all gone even, it’s getting to be wheat colored hills time, which is not my favorite, but it is most of the year, so I am used to it.

    1. I don't think the fur thing is a big deal. It has just been an interesting pet parent situation.

I am a tiny bit envious that you are so far ahead of us in the seasonal timeline, but I can wait a little longer for dress and sandal weather!

  9. I am just remembering that someone in our neighbourhood has tulips. I was racking my brain to think of whether or not I had seen any this season and I have!

I am loving all the different colours on my walks. Spring! Sunglasses! And even some walks without something to keep my ears warm.

    1. YES! Some walks without hats! We are turning a corner!

  10. We have tulips. The weather seems really nice at your neck of the woods. Also Hannah seems happier in the sun.

  11. OMG a tank top and sunglasses! It's summer?! I am sure it will be back soon and then everyone will be hot. I am hot and I am hiking so it takes a lot of sunscreen and sweat every day so although I don't want to wear a jacket, I wouldn't mind a bit of cloud cover.

    1. I very rarely complain about being too hot. As a matter of fact, I rarely am too hot. LOL.

  12. I noted the flowers on your walk---spring is FOR sure trying to get there. Can you imagine not having Hannah? I mean, do you think you'd get as many walks in for yourself?

    1. Before Hannah, I used to take one long walk a day. I certainly did not do a walk before breakfast! So, I can imagine not having Hannah, but I don't want to!!
