January 15, 2:08pm - Props to my husband for clearing the driveway so when the temps fell to colder than you've ever been in your life it wasn't just ice. |
January 16, 7:19pm - This is for all of you who think Zelda doesn't get enough facetime. Look at those eyes! |
Pretty eyes! Also WOW the snow looks beautiful, and Hannah is an excellent snow ruler.
ReplyDeleteYou can tell it's deep when you can't see Hannah's belly!
DeleteI love Hannah's winterwear! Very cozy. It's so beautiful, and yet, I know what chaos that kind of snow causes! Yikes. Hope you are staying safe and warm, I know what it's like to drive in those conditions and it's not fun.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the roads are abysmal. Oh, well, this too shall pass soon enough. (Monday. It will end on Monday when the temps will get above freezing and then we're supposed to get rain. So on Monday we'll get flooding instead!)
DeleteI loved *each* picture here, Engie! The picture of you and Ms. Z = <3.
ReplyDeleteAlso, after reading your comments on driving on a couple of blogs, I wanted to send some good energies if you're still white-knuckling to and from work. Many patches of our roads are long ice rinks too, and you can't always tell if it's going to be ok, or if everything is going to slide around. I wish the plows would go over everything again to make it a bit safer!
Yes, the roads are just an icy mess, but they are getting a tiny bit better each day. Also, so far my husband has been driving me to and from work, so I'm a lucky girl to put that stress on him!
DeleteThat snow looks gorgeous...and also deep. I'm shivering vicariously. I think our temperatures are going to take a nosedive soon. I'm not sure I'm ready for it...
ReplyDeleteStay safe on the roads <3
The snow is SO PRETTY. I wish I was a good photographer to show how lovely the trees look. It's so cold that the snow is just staying on the trees and it is a perfect winter scene. If you don't mind the really really cold wind chills!
DeleteBelly deep snow! That says it all.
ReplyDeleteIt was so NICE before it got really cold. Hannah was having a ball. Now she's grumpy about having to get dressed.
DeleteOh, hi Zelda! : )
ReplyDeleteIt'a absolutely hilarious because people are complaining that it's "too cloudy" here. The current temperature is 64 and yes, it's cloudy. Brrr! We sure have it hard! (eye roll. I grew up in the midwest so I KNOW.)
Hey, if you're used to 80s, 64 IS cold. I don't judge. I mean, I don't have to deal with scary hurricanes, so we all take our scary climate crises as they come, right?
DeleteSo much snow. It looks so good. We don't have nearly as much. I guess you would consider our snow a dusting of snow. But its hard for snow to stay in a big city as Berlin...
ReplyDeleteWe used to live in a big city (Minneapolis) and it was crazy how much snow we would get. The city streets would get so narrow because there was not place to PUT the snow!
DeleteLucy jumped off the back step and disappeared early last Saturday morning - we had to hastily shovel her a clear area in the back yard. I was thankful the storm came on a Friday night, and the aftermath is very pretty.
ReplyDeleteOur storm really started on Thursday night, so everything went remote on Friday and it was a holiday for me on Monday, so we really holed up for four days!
DeletePoor Lucy. It's too much snow for a little girl!
It is so pretty, but SO cold. Great photos. And hello, Zelda. My part of the world is in a similar state and I'm ready for the thaw.
ReplyDeleteZelda doesn't even know it's cold outside. We should all be like Zelda.
DeleteSuch lovely pictures! I love your adorable row of snow people!
DeleteWell, it was just some snow people from around the neighborhood. I love that there's so much snow you can't even tell where they took the snow from!
DeleteThe photo of the snow on the red berries is just gorgeous. But...snow. UGH.
ReplyDeleteI love that Hannah will tolerate the booties. Zydrunas would not. He won't even let us rub salve on his paws to keep them moisturized.
Zelda has the long, graceful whiskers that my Marlowe has. She's part Maine Coon and a fluffy girl with green eyes, too. Does she have the tufty feet?
Hannah tolerates the booties, but requires a lot of coaxing to wear them. Once she's outside, she's grateful for them! We can (and do) use Musher's Secret on her paws when it's not quite so cold.
DeleteZelda's feet are SO tufty! I shall endeavor to get a photo of them for everyone!
Such beautiful snow!
ReplyDeleteHi Zelda!!!
It is so pretty! I can't get over it!
DeleteZelda's eyes!
ReplyDeleteI also love Hannah's outerwear. ❤️
Hannah is a winter fashion icon for sure.
DeleteSo beautiful! Also, BRRR!
ReplyDeleteSo cold. So very cold!
Deleteice to see Zelda up close. Our huge banks between the street and sidewalk were removed overnight. I must have slept well because I didn't hear them or see the lights.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow! I think our plows are still busy with the inch thick ice on the main roads to worry about snow banks!
DeleteZelda is so pretty! And of course the snow pictures are gorgeous, but I don't miss dealing with snow one little bit. I love those snow people on top of the bushes! Very clever.
ReplyDeleteThere are SO MANY snow people in our neighborhood. I love each and every one.
DeleteThe snow is pretty, but I am OVER these frigid temps. It is extra annoying now that I have a dog. Charlie is hanging in there with it but he misses his walks, and the whole "go out to potty" thing is just all around unpleasant when it's this cold out!! For all of us. haha. I can't wait for it to warm up. He does totally fine in the 20s-30s- loves to be out. But these 0 and below temps are another story!! A few more days... then looks warmer next week....
ReplyDeleteHannah doesn't get too grumpy until about five below. She wears boots and her coat if it's below 20, though. It takes FOREVER to get her ready and me ready, though, so that eats into our walk time. I only have 30 minutes allocated for our morning and mid-day walks and it's so much easier when I can just toss on her harness and grab shoes for myself! I wear a huge coat, two hats, and snowpants and found that even on the super duper cold days I was doing okay if we were out for 15-20 minutes at a time.
DeleteI'm not looking forward to the flooding that's going to come with the snow melt and rain next week, but hopefully the temps will be warmer and more pleasant! (Although rain and 30s in not fun either...)
Beautiful for sure...both the snow and Hannah! Six days after the snow ended, it still looks basically the same outside. Sure hope we don't contend with flooding next week!
ReplyDeleteIt's SO PRETTY. I am not eager for precipitation right at the freezing point next week - could be snow, freezing rain, sleet - but I think it's going to feel downright balmy.
DeleteHannah the Snow Queen! Lovely photos, but man, that looks cooooooollllld! She doesn't seem to mind it though and her jacket looks cozy.
ReplyDeleteZelda does have the loveliest eyes.
It IS so cold. You would not like it very much, Suz. I have a lot of outerwear on!
DeleteLove all the snowy pictures :)
ReplyDeleteSo. Much. Snow. It's going to go away early next week, so I guess I better enjoy it while I have it.
DeleteAnd now it's even MORE disgusting. I'd rather have 25 and snow on the ground with plowed roads than a Mud Season that is going to last for six months. Bleargh.
ReplyDeleteHannah. Zelda. <3
I knew it would only be beautiful for a small time. It was just so cold!!
