Bestest Friend and I are in the middle of a blog project. Each day of
the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a
little something about it. The theme for the sixteenth day of each month is "Beauty."

It was a rather tedious travel day. Six hours in the car, a trip to the grocery store, class preparation for tomorrow, a broken light bulb all over the bathroom, and unpacking still left to do are pretty much the highlights.
So I'm going to post a photo from yesterday - yesterday when we were still in the throes of Vacation Mode, still unaware of just how much suckiness today would bring, and still in love with the idea that winter can be spectacular.
It's so easy to get caught in the cold and the fear of sliding into ditches and falling down that I sometimes forget that it's awesome. It's awesome to live somewhere with a change in seasons. It's awesome to live where the weather builds community with shared shoveling, clearing off your neighbor's car, and trips down the sledding hill at the local park. It's nice to have this.
But I won't really be heartbroken when the thermometer gets above freezing again, either.
