So we had some snow here over the weekend. It's hard to say how much because it blew all over the place, so some places have two foot tall drifts and in other places you can still see the grass. Dr. BB and I talk about how windy this town is all the time and everybody here just acts like it's normal and it's so much windier than any place I've ever lived before that I'm starting to think all those places I've lived are weird.
The town also does this bizarre thing with snow removal on the streets. It clears lanes in either direction and leaves all the snow piled up in a giant pile in the middle of the road. If there used to be a turn lane, now it's a giant heap of white. If there was no turn lane, your cleared portion of the pavement is just enough to get a pickup through. Just now the city workers are working on removing the snow pile in the middle of the streets. I've never seen the "dump snow in the middle of the street" form of snow maintenance before.
Anyway, I'm supposed to drive fifty miles east tonight to meet a student (towards the lake effect monster that is Lake Michigan) and we're supposed to get a bunch more snow and I'm not thrilled with these circumstances, but maybe the weather folks are just exaggerating about how bad it's going to be.
