Bestest Friend and I are in the middle of a blog project. Each day of
the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a
little something about it. The theme for the twenty-ninth day of each month is "Music."

My husband is a bit of a horse trader when it comes to guitars. He buys a nice one, but there's always something wrong with it (too heavy, too "bright" sounding, too wide of a fretboard, too something) and he sells it and buys another nice one.
It's kind of weird because we were watching Antiques Roadshow the other day (what? we're old people) and before the appraiser could say a word, Dr. BB said, "that's a 1934 Gibson - pre-war guitars are hard to find" and HE WAS RIGHT. It was disconcerting to me since I don't know anything about anything on those antique/pawn shop shows.
Anyway, but this is Blackie, Dr. BB's first guitar. He bought it in high school with money he earned mowing lawns, raking leaves, and shoveling snow. Blackie has been beat all to hell, has lots of "beausage" marks, and kind of sounds like crap.
But Blackie is never going to go away. He's ours forever.
Also, the cable guy came to do something to the cable and internet today and managed to do the following:
Leave the closet door open, despite instructions clearly stating to leave all the doors closed (Zelda likes shoelaces);
Leave the entertainment center doors open, stacks of DVDs sitting on the floor, and random cables strewn all about (there were no instructions on this because, SERIOUSLY - also, Zelda likes cords which is why we have the enclosed entertainment center);
Blackie knocked over.
But the picture on our television screen has never looked better, so that's a win?
