Bestest Friend and I are in the middle of a blog project. Each day of
the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a
little something about it. The theme for the eleventh day of each month is "The Great Outdoors."

There's a joke in the upper Midwest that says there are really only two seasons - freeze your bones cold winter and sweat your skin off summer. But that's not entirely true because there are a few weeks in October of perfect fall weather - crisp and clear and everything you dream of when you're eating the millionth Popsicle in late August. To be fair, there are usually a few weeks of spring, too, but it's not as reliable.
Today is one of those perfect fall days and it happened on a Saturday so we felt no guilt about taking the long way home and enjoying the golden views, the snap of the air flowing through the windows just barely cracked open, and Lucero blasting through the speakers.
We went to the Farmers' Market today and most of what's out is squash and apples, but I took a few moments to reflect on what I imagine are the last of the tomatoes we're going to see this year.
