The kids starting kindergarten used the pieces as weapons, throwing them at one another when they wanted someone's attention. This led to only one small bruise, as far as I know.
The three year old just wanted an adult to sit with him and listen to him name the animals. "What's this, J?" "Donkey!" "This?" "Goat!" "What about this one?" "It's a sheep!!" "What does a sheep say, J?" "Moo."
Uh.
I must have gone through these animals a dozen times with him and I can't imagine how many times his mom did the same thing.
The two year old wasn't talking, at least to me. She was trying to do the puzzle by herself and there was something oddly relaxing about watching her attempt to put the sheep in the pig shape, turn it around, try it again, and then move on to the next shape. She was very systematic, especially considering that it looked like the most frustrating thing in the world to me.
Thirty-five year old me just liked the pig.
