Bestest Friend and I are in the middle of a blog project. Each day of
the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a
little something about it. The theme for the thirteenth day of each month is "Happy."

Today was not my best day and as I trudged through, getting ever more down on myself and what I was doing, I struggled with the very idea of "happy." I'm not happy, I kept thinking, I'm barely tolerating the day. But somewhere in between the endless miles in the car, the unanswered emails, and the constant tweaking of course designs, I walked into my third public library of the day and saw this.
I don't know what librarian dreamed up the idea of decorating the elevator, but I salute the one who did. At this point in the day, I was pissy, knowing that I still had one more student in addition to making dinner and grocery shopping, and I was already exhausted to my very core.
But then I saw this, smiled, and forgot all about my niggling concerns and just focused on the cleverness that led to this bit of whimsy at the library.
Thank you to the librarians, blue skies, and Garth Brooks CDs (shout out to The Angry Taoist - I put in Ropin' the Wind just for "In Lonesome Dove") that made this day turn around.

As I was "Shameless"-ly flirting with our UPS guy today, I sang that song in my head and thought of you!
