4.3 Think - Little Ones at Work

Bestest Friend and I are in the middle of a blog project. Each day of the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a little something about it. The theme for the third day of each month is "Think."

They all go to Montessori preschools (is this a thing now? or just a thing among the affluent(ish) in eastern Iowa?) and they all call playing "working," which just makes me laugh.  "Aunt NGS, can we go work now?"  "Of course you can."  Their little brains are busy thinking, developing skills both motor and social, and there's nothing I love more than watching them be silly with their toys.

He's not quite two and he doesn't really seem to have a fully formed personality except for his love of all things superhero. He'll tell you about Captain America, Spiderman, and Batman, and I feel like he was even telling me something about Wonder Woman, but I may be mistaken. I only understand about one in every five words he says, so it's kind of a guess for me at times.

His voice is hoarse and low and the first question everyone always asks when they first meet his is if he is sick.  He's happy and cheerful with a very wide grin, but if he notices that his mommy has left the room his big eyes fill with tears and he starts sobbing.

By the end of the day, these shorts were covered in sidewalk chalk, bubble solution fingerprints, and mud.  The Spider-Man shirt had been replaced with another after a disastrous snack that involved chocolate chips.  A good day's work was done.
