It's Cool Bloggers Walking Club (CBWC) time! Hosted by Elisabeth, we're trying for ten minutes of intentional movement every day.
The story of CBWC this week is that it was raining/storming/tornadoing almost every night. I live in a river town and there's a lot of flooding.

| This is the riverwalk. Those stairs normally lead down to a sidewalk along the river. Now it's just river. |

37 minutes with Hannah in the morning - It is glorious, but rain is forecast to be starting around 2, so we're enjoying our time outside while we can

| Way back there on the right is the road I usually take to work. My guess is that I won't take this road again until summer. |

I don't usually talk about my workouts in CBWC updates, but today we did our fitness class outside and these dudes in a canoe wandered by where the riverwalk usually is. I took their photo and he shouted his phone number at me. When I sent it to him, he sent us a bunch of photos he took. It was such a small town moment.

Has anyone ever shouted their number to you from a canoe? What's your favorite of the flood photos?

I love the POV shots from the canoe. There's something about being able to take a boat in a place where you normally can't. Last summer we had a huge rainstorm and there was just enough water in the street that Hubs was able to take his kayak out. Thankfully we did not get flooding.
ReplyDeleteOur house is fine, but the houses on our street to the east of us have really suffered. I am nervous about what it will look like when the waters recede.
DeleteThat’s a lot of ‘flooding’. We just have some ponding in the park.
ReplyDeleteWhy flooding in quotes? It's legitimate flooding with a lot of property damage. It's also going to be a breeding ground for a lot of mosquitoes!!
DeleteWow! You really did get flooded. A LOT. We live near a river, but it's below us by quite a bit. We've never had to worry about it overspilling its banks.
ReplyDeleteI love the rowers and you exchanging photos. What a great moment!
There was a really bad flood some years before we moved here that actually prevented anyone from getting to the north side of town at all because all the bridges were flooded. Not great! Fortunately it's not that bad.
DeleteOh my goodness on the flooding! Wowza. Well, you are still getting outside and Hannah is enjoying every minute, especially the stick chewing. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've yet to have someone shout out their phone number to me, and vice versa. That made me giggle!
I know, right? What a weird story. I wouldn't even recognize the man if I saw him on the street, but I have his phone number now.
DeleteWOW. That is a lot of flooding!. And what a cool story about the guys in the canoe. Nope- oddly enough, no one has ever shouted their phone number to me from a canoe. Maybe I just need to get out more.
ReplyDeleteYeah, surely you can get some rower's number, Jenny. Maybe it should be a 2026 goal for you! ;)
DeleteI love your small town moment! Reading that boosted my mood so much, and the pictures you got in return were very cool. My favorite is the Road Closed one. Flooding is scary though. Tornadoing sounds awfully scary too. Be safe.
ReplyDeleteOmg - I love the phone number exchange for photos. Such a small town moment. Yikes that flooding is unreal. The community around the Fox River has been all over the news with the flooding there. My fav pic is the last one. I assume that the fitness class
