June 2025 Accountability Buddy

Sunday, June 1
Day off

Monday, June 2
30-minute Werq (dance) class after work - I hadn't worked out since Thursday and I had done very little movement over the weekend outside of some light stretching before bed. I was *shocked Pikachu face* at how much better my bad leg felt during this workout. There are some moves that I just automatically modify because I know my leg can't handle it, but here I was doing them. I wonder if I'm actually not giving my leg enough rest. It's an interesting question. I have a doctor's appointment next week to discuss if my leg is what it is and I need to suck it up or if there's something that can be done.

*Our local healthcare organization does free stretch classes virtually three times a week. Sign up here! It's free. It's fun. We regularly talk about candy and what's for lunch. It's a delightful break in the middle of the day. You do not have to have your camera on.

If it has been hot by you, where are you doing your workouts to stay cool? If it's not hot by you, you should brag about that in the comments!

  1. Great job- you met your goal of 80%, right? I always like the variety of your workouts. To answer your question, why yes it is hot where I am, and I just enjoyed a nice run on the treadmill at the air conditioned gym.
I hope you get some good answers at the doctor next week.

  2. I have worked out... three or four times in the past month???? Yikes face. It is too hot to be outside. The cat has been occupying the exercise room until recently, and even though we have many other rooms in which I could presumably do exercise, I have just... not. I did do some swimming a few times, though, and I did laps and even though it was barely anything my arms and shoulders hurt for days afterward.

Anyway, you are killing it, Engie! Woot woot! Go you!

  3. I do all my workouts in our home gym, in the air conditioned basement! So I keep cool. I mean, unless you count Rex walks (I don't), but we are generally home before 9am, and it's not terribly hot at that time (low 20s C).

  4. Oh, it's definitely hot as hell here. Fortunately, my workouts are always early morning walks, right after the sun comes up. Even those have been bearable at best. Is it fall yet?
