5.26 Support - Possible Pagan Celebrations

Bestest Friend and I are in the middle of a blog project. Each day of the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a little something about it. The theme for the twenty-sixth day of each month is "Support."
****************************
Today we got pumpkins. Dr. BB's favorite holiday is Halloween and we like to celebrate by poorly carving gourds, drying and roasting their seeds, and attempting to get a picture of our cat docilely sitting next to the jack-o-lanterns while we take a picture (Z-cat is not a professional model, despite what you might think).
Things have not been going particularly well for Dr. BB. He has been forced into a sedentary lifestyle ("why don't you not lift anything heavy or move too much for a few weeks while we keep an eye on that?" says the doctor) and he's not particularly pleased about it. Even the use of the wheelbarrow for the moving of the pumpkins (I lifted them) seemed to set off some inner torment. Anyhow, because of the limitations, we have been forced to limit our regularly scheduled October haunted house excursions and I'm trying to be more creative in ways to enjoy the season without having to be particularly physical.

Left on my list of things to do include making an apple pie and carving these pumpkins.  And then we will have well and truly done fall.

  1. I have no idea why, really, but your first paragraph made me laugh uproariously.
