Why Does My Kitchen Smell?

There is a smell in our kitchen. We noticed it a couple of days ago and we did the obvious things - checked the produce, took out the trash, made sure the cat wasn't carrying around disgusting things in fur, but to no avail. This led to me doing a deeper clean of our kitchen than I would normally ever do.  I bleached the shelves in the fridge, threw out two randomly undated hamburger patties from the freezer, and cleaned all the shelves.  And, more importantly, I took 20 minutes and organized the stupid Tupperware cupboard. I hate the stupid Tupperware cupboard. There are always random lids floating around and when you take out the immersion blender, Tupperware goes flying around randomly.  It looks like this right now. I'm pretty sure it will continue to be this organized until approximately dinner time.

But the smell is still here.  Except now it's a smell with lovely top notes of bleach.  Up next: cleaning the top of the cabinets. I've never done this in my life. Anywhere I've ever lived. I'm sure it's just a tumbleweed of Zelda fur and grossness.  Wish me luck.

  1. We had a SMELL and it was guck underneath the stove burners. Good luck!

  2. It could be your sink drain, especially if you have a garbage disposal. Baking soda and white vinegar flushed with hot water should take care of it, but you might have to do it more than once.
