6.30 Contemplate - The Christmas Tree

Bestest Friend and I are in the middle of a blog project. Each day of the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a little something about it. The theme for the thirtieth day of each month is "Contemplate."

As a reward for making it through this weekend and checking A LOT of things off my to do list, we put up the Christmas tree tonight. I love putting up the tree and discussing the ornaments one by one. I love stringing the ribbon and remembering all the angst we went through in choosing it. I love pointing out the fact that we have no ornament from 2011 (the year of the broken leg) because I was too stoned to deal with it (we call it the "lost year").

And I love that it takes about fifteen minutes from start to finish.  The joys of a three-foot tall tree.
We have only one box for Christmas things, so I only buy one or two ornaments every year. I'm hoping that at some point we'll upgrade to a six-foot tree and then maybe I'll get a second Christmas box.  Until that time comes, it is super important to me to pick out the perfect ornament to represent us each year.

Last year it was this adorable snowman.
When I was in Michigan last month, I purchased a couple of Old World ornaments - a gherkin and an acorn. But I've been contemplating which personalized ornament I should get for the last couple of days. My options are:

1. Bike ornament from Wedding Tree Prints ($9 + $4.99 shipping)

2. Zombie ornament from Peackwik ($17.95 + $5 shipping)

3. Leaf ornament from Your Charmed Life ($25 + $4.50 shipping)

4. Penguin ornament from Adornments NY ($15 + $3.50 shipping)
Any strong preferences from the peanut gallery out there?

  1. Oh, come on. You HAVE to get the zombie one. But it needs Zelda.
