1.24 Pain - Construction

Bestest Friend and I are embarking on a new blog project. Each day of the month we will post a picture on a pre-determined theme and write a little something about it. The theme for the twenty-fourth day of each month is "Pain."

The construction in our neighborhood is slowly but surely going to drive me insane.  We were told that the construction would finish in six months when we first moved in and now we’re going on two years and they just poured two new foundations!

This isn’t the worst thing in the world. It’s fun watching the buildings go up and it’s nice to know the community is able to sustain such a building boom (although, in light of the 2008 economic disaster, we sometimes wonder if we’re watching a mini housing bubble here).  I love watching the little kids line up on the sidewalk to watch the tractors and other mysterious construction equipment do their jobs. Our cat loves to watch all the bustle outside “her” window. But the noise is constant and distracting during weekdays when I’m trying to, you know, work. The construction workers are pretty careful, but the sidewalks are cracking from the heavy dozers and cranes and trailers, and bolts and nails in the roadway are not an uncommon sight.

I’m going to work on keeping my chin up – this, too, shall pass!
