Have you tried a fun new workout recently? Spill the details!
You had a great month, Engie! I have not tried a fun new workout, I'm same old same old.
ReplyDeleteIt was really a step out of my comfort zone. LOL. But it was fun. Maybe I'll try to find another new class to go to.
DeleteI love the variety in your workouts! My back has been bothering me recently when I do strength training, so I'm taking a break and turning to pilates and barre. The best workout I did recently was this barre workout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pGk9KP4fB0
ReplyDeleteThis pilates workout was also pretty good, but I'd describe it as more gentle than intermediate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TXj_U23bPs
Pilates can be SO HARD. You're thinking you're just doing tiny movements and then the next thing you know, your legs are burning. Good work!
DeleteI go for daily walks and that is fun, but nothing formal like you do. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteGetting outside is exhausting in and of itself. When I spend more time than normal outside, I am so tired at night!
DeleteThat is a really lovely workout space in that top photo. Is that a place on campus that you visit during the work day? I love that you can work workouts into the day on your college campus. I've not tried a new workout. I usually use the videos taped over the pandemic and posted on FB by my fav workout instructor, but I have tried a video that I've never done before, which was fun. (there are literally hundreds of videos posted and I usually do the same favs). My fav class was the one for women over 40. Sounds like a fun target group.
ReplyDeleteThat is the community center! I don't think there's a single space on campus that's as beautiful as that. I'm so lucky that the community center is only a few minutes walk from my house.
DeleteI have not tried a fun new workout, unless you count the idiotic adventure I ended up on with Lucy - and that was not fun. Have not decided if I will blog about it.
ReplyDeleteOh, now you HAVE to blog about it!
DeleteYour consistency is so impressive!! I am trying a 3x a week upper body program this month to help get my arms ready for crutches haha sigh. I am really enjoying not having to think about what to do during my workout time (I lose my workout opportunities to analysis paralysis sometimes) and am making a mental note to remember this when I can do more!
ReplyDeleteUgh. You have to toughen up the inside of your arms for the rubbing of crutches. LOL. I had surgery on my left leg and I never really used two crutches - I went straight from the walker to one crutch.
DeleteI just pick a video and go with it. LOL. Sometimes I have time constraints, so I'll just type in 30 minute arms and I just do whatever. Otherwise I'd be the same boat and I'd waste all my precious workout time just making a decision!
Nice job- and I checked out a couple of those strength videos you linked to (I mean- I didn't DO them, I just looked at them, lol.) I'm always looking to mix things up, strength-wise. I guess the only new (new-old?) thing for me is I got out my pull up bar again, so I can torture myself for a few weeks until I give up.
ReplyDeleteFunny story. There's ALWAYS a pullup bar out in our house. My husband just randomly does five pullups throughout the day. I don't even know how to get started with it, so I don't even think about it most of the time.
DeleteWell, if you call struggling to stay upright after leaving work yesterday and crossing an icy parking lot while being buffeted by 50-mph wind gusts a workout, then yes...I did!
ReplyDeleteYeah, just walking was a real workout, that's for sure. Sometimes I feel like I should get bonus health points for walking the dog.
DeleteI love how you continue to show up for yourself!
ReplyDeleteThanks, friend. You're definitely an inspiration.
